Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov has attended the 7th meeting of the foreign ministers of the Caspian littoral states in Moscow.
Addressing the event, Mammadyarov said that much has been done as a result of the negotiations on the Caspian status. “The Caspian littoral states adhere to the common opinion that it is necessary to make a maximum effort to reach a consensus,” Mammadyarov said.
The foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan focused on documents relating to the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea, economy, transport, military navigation, combat against poaching in the Caspian Sea and cooperation in ensuring navigation security.
The documents will be submitted to the next summit of the heads of state of the Caspian littoral states.
