“The initiative of united energy space in the Caspian, Black Sea and Baltic Sea, we put forward earlier, becomes a subject of main discussions nowâ€, said Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko at the 4th Energy Summit in Baku.
He said the 4th Energy Summit was very important event. “It shows that we make efforts to reach our goal. It is important that Hungary, Turkey and European Union also attend the summit. I highly appreciate the dialogue within this frameworkâ€.
Yushchenko thinks that economic efforts are not enough for the implementation of the projects in this field. “The heads of state and government have to demonstrate political will. The projects cannot be realized only with economic measures. We have to strengthen the working groups, to establish new institutions and to accelerate the works. We consider that the feasibility study of the Odessa-Brodi project will be ready in Decemberâ€.
The Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev for hosting the summit.
